Review – Brag!: The Art of Tooting Your Own Horn without Blowing It

I finally finished this book and as you can see from the photo above it’s been through a lot. I had heard really good things about this book and the reviews on amazon are outstanding so I was excited to read this one. Once I was about 80 pages in, I realized this wasn’t for me. It’s example after example about how the author helped someone overcome their confidence issue; 98% of these examples don’t help you at all. They are all about a profession or field that I’m not in and because of that they are sort of boring. It overall seemed like the author was just showing how good she is at listing all the people she helped, the only thing missing was the name dropping of the famous people… but I guess that would be too much bragging…
Minus the 100’s of examples this book could have been summed up in about 25 pages or a lengthy blog post. I really couldn’t believe I read the whole thing but once I started it I had to see it through. If you really have an issue with self-confidence, get a personal coach and skip this book.
